Its become a bit of an end of year tradition, Google makes a review of the year with stunning clips and an emotive soundtrack. Is it a not so subtle way of branding the year as a google year? Implying that google helped to make this year possible? That google helped us to get through the tough times and made the good events take place? In one sense we are increasingly reliant on Google as the lens through which we see the world so perhaps its not completely outrageous for them to review it for us…
This clip might be useful to church pastors on the last Sunday of the year…

The "love Jesus, hate religion" guy features are 2:20ish
Had rather similar feelings with the Zeitgeist video last year. They are clever & beautifully edited, but seem to carry a subtle message of "the world brought to you by Google":http://richardlittledale.me.uk/2011/12/17/a-year-in-under-three-minutes/
